whenever I meet someone who has the same predilection as I do for oriental boys I just meet their eyes and it’s like
aww yeah gurl u know bout dat yellow fever
and then we go on our separate ways with just a nod of acknowledgement but inside it’s like there’s more of us
Women have had to live in the spaces that men have dictated to them for millennia
I think the reason why a lot of men are put off from the feminist movement is because it is a space where they have no real power to dictate, almost a reversal of the societal norm they are used to
when you order so much food for yourself that the waitress asks are you sure
ACHIEVEMENT
I think my problem with Rihanna is that she thinks she’s some bad bitch for smoking weed then posting pics of it when in reality shes on about the same level as 15 year olds who tag their instagrams with #YOLO
Why do I have to wear underwear every goddamn day? - an essay by me
do you ever have those days where you wake up and think “I want to sit on a dick today”
girls that post “lazy” pictures of themselves on instagram in just long socks and a hoody like come on now I know in reality you wearing the 3 year old leggings with the the hole in the vagina
you haven’t seen hell until you’ve sneezed whilst having a nosebleed
how can you discount feminism because you disagree with one view held by some members of the movement
it’s like saying you don’t like all meat because you found some chicken you ate at your aunts house once a bit dry
if you don’t know enough about feminism to understand that it is an umbrella term under which many conflicting ideas are held simply because they share the one common idea that women are not second-class citizens then you don’t know enough to critique it
I will never get a divorce.
communismkills:
Nevermind not believing in it, but that would be absolutely devastating for my children. I cannot imagine the emotional damage that happens when children have to undergo divorce.
If my spouse is abusive, of course that would be another story, but if we just start to hate each other, that’s not enough of a reason to get a divorce. “Irreconcilable differences” my ass. Divorce is way too easy now-a-days, and it has a lot to do with the state being involved in marriage.
No. Obviously I will not make such a generalised statement like you have, but in my experience my parents divorcing was a relief after years of arguing and resentment that had created a horribly emotionally toxic atmosphere for me and my brother. Finally we knew where things stood and as a family we have become more stable because there’s no longer the uncertainty that existed before.
In fact, what I would say emotionally damaged me, if I am at all, was the years they spent yelling at each other and refusing to accept that what was best for me and my brother was not witnessing such resentment on a daily basis but actually drawing a metaphorical line under their marriage and moving on. Knowing that my father is no longer sneaking off to visit his girlfriend and that my mother is no longer crying herself to sleep at night is unsurprisingly a lot less damaging than knowing that they are both happy with a fresh start, and their separate happiness has given me a more solid foundation than their combined sadness and anger ever did.
patriarchal society in action/why you shouldn’t let little boys think they can have whatever they want:
when a boy thinks you have an obligation towards him because he has a crush on you
your self-generated emotions are not my problem
I don’t exist for your gratification, be it emotional or otherwise.
